Within a sandy flower bed sand-bank, and in the dappled sunlight and shade of an early summer day, an Asian Green Bee-eater starts to dig its sandy nest-hole at Wilderness Orchard in Delhi Merops orientalis or the Green Bee-eater is a cute nattily attired bird in smart green and one that launches out from its tree perch, after passing flying insects, flies and bees, bringing them back to its perch for a good battering and then consumption. An Asian Green Bee Eater sits on a branch and surveys its surroundings. Widely distributed across Asia, this bird makes its nest in deep holes it digs in sand banks.
