Watch this hard-working little bird excavate a deep hole in a mud bank using its claws and its beak, all the tools at its disposal, to prepare a safe nesting space for its eggs. In the heat of a summer's day in New Delhi, this Merops orientalis or Green Bee Eater digs nest-hole in a sand bank in the ground, to breed almost at ground level This dainty little bird with a black band around its neck preys on honey bees and insects. With green and aquamarine feathers and the black line around its eyes it is quite a bird.
