Every winter, wetlands across India come alive with the arrival of thousands of migratory birds traveling along the Central Asian Flyway. Vast flocks gather on calm water bodies, forming dense floating carpets that shimmer under the soft winter light. The synchronized movements, sudden take-offs, and constant chorus of calls create a breathtaking natural spectacle. Among the most commonly observed species in such gatherings are dabbling ducks like the Northern Shoveler, Common Teal, Northern Pintail, Eurasian Wigeon, and Gadwall.
