This powerful environmental footage documents the severe ecological crisis unfolding at Sanjay Lake in the Trilokpuri area of East Delhi. An intense heatwave combined with a disrupted water supply has caused water levels across the urban wetland to drop dramatically, exposing vast stretches of deeply cracked and parched earth. Once an important freshwater habitat for urban wildlife and migratory birds, large portions of the lake now appear dry and severely degraded. Despite the shrinking habitat and dangerously low oxygen levels in the remaining muddy pools, flocks of migratory waterbirds continue to gather in the shallow waters, struggling to survive within the deteriorating ecosystem.
