Yes, so this proves that bee eaters do indeed eat bees as well! The Merops orientalis takes the fight out of the Apis dorsata bee, by battering it repeatedly on the twig it's sitting on. As the name suggests, this Green Bee Eater has landed a honeybee in its beak. Perched on a leafless branch of a tree the bird bashes the bee against the branch and flies away. A duo can be seen on an exposed branch probably looking for insects to feed on. If not for small insects, it is a relatively safe bird with greenish plumage, a black band around its neck and the feathers are bluish or aquamarine.
