A small group of Asian Green Bee-eaters huddling closely together on a bare branch in a display of social roosting behavior. These elegant birds are easily recognized by their bright green plumage, slender black eye stripe, delicate curved bills, and elongated central tail streamers. The tight grouping seen here is a common behavior known as social thermoregulation, where birds cluster together to conserve body heat and reduce energy loss during cool weather or early morning hours. Asian Green Bee-eaters are highly social birds and are often observed resting, hunting, or roosting together in groups.
