A pigeon pair peck at and nibbles at each others' necks and napes. Two young Rock Pigeon squabs rest closely together inside a sheltered wooden nesting corner. The juvenile birds still display traces of soft yellowish down feathers around their heads as they gradually transition into adult plumage. Their developing grey feathers, compact posture, and quiet behaviour reflect an important stage of early growth before fledging. Safely tucked away from predators and harsh weather conditions, the siblings remain side by side for warmth, protection, and comfort within the nesting space. Rock Pigeon squabs spend their early weeks hidden inside protected cavities or ledges while relying on parental care until they are strong enough for their first flight.
