Devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra, a major annual Hindu pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kanwariyas are seen walking along a highway toward Haridwar, one of the principal destinations for collecting sacred Ganga water. Many pilgrims wear saffron-colored clothing and carry decorated kanwars balanced on their shoulders in preparation for the return journey. The route is crowded with support vehicles, trucks, and traffic moving alongside the procession. Several trucks display Kanwar Yatra banners and religious decorations on their exterior panels.
