A Pollution Checking Centre next to a gas station in Delhi carries out pollution control checks on vehicles. The number plates of the vehicles are recorded. As per the amended traffic rules and policy in the country, the vehicle owners line up the centre to get Pollution under control certificates for their vehicles. All vehicles plying on Indian roads should have a valid PUC or Pollution Under Control certificates according to the New Motor Vehicles Act, in case of the absence of a PUC, penalties will ensue.
