A pollution checking personnel runs pollution tests on vehicles in Delhi. Fearing fines after the introduction of amended Motor Vehicles Act, vehicle owners line up pollution checking centres to get a valid Pollution Under Control certificate. PUCs are given out to vehicle owners whose vehicle pass the pollution test. Vehicles emitting gases harmful to the environment beyond the standard pollution norms are denied PUC certificates.
