H.H. Dalai reaches Spiti in Mesco Airlines VT-MAE for Kalachakra at Tabo Monastery in 1996. VT-MAE call sign was owned by Mesco and is now operated by Skyone Airways, and runs on Klimov TV3-117MT engines. Mesco Airlines imported Russian MI helicopters for operation in India under the name Mesco Aviation, a company promoted by Rita and J K Singh. Tabo Monastery is located in the Tabo village of Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, northern India. It was founded in 996 CE in the Tibetan year of the Fire Ape. by the Tibetan Buddhist lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo (Mahauru Ramabhadra), on behalf of the king of western Himalayan Kingdom of Guge, Yeshe-Ö.
