A small group of Lesser Flamingo is seen wading through the shallow, saline waters of Sambhar Lake. These elegant birds are known for their vibrant pink coloration, which is often more intense than that of the larger Greater Flamingo. There are also a few Pied Avocets at the edge of the water. Avocets are striking wading birds known for their black-and-white plumage and long, slender bills that curve upward at the tip. They inhabit shallow wetlands, mudflats, and coastal lagoons, where they feed by sweeping their bills side to side through the water to catch small invertebrates like insects, crustaceans, and mollusks.
