A stunning sight unfolds at Sambhar Lake, Rajasthan, as flamingos fly gracefully across the sky and walk through the shallow saline waters of India’s largest inland salt lake. This wetland is a crucial seasonal habitat for Greater and Lesser Flamingos, which migrate here to feed on algae and microscopic organisms thriving in the salt-rich environment. As the flamingos move in groups, their long legs and curved necks create elegant patterns against the vast white landscape of the lake. Sambhar Lake plays an important role in supporting migratory bird populations and maintaining ecological balance in the Thar region.
