At Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan, flocks of flamingos create a striking pink spectacle across the vast salt flats, while the elegant Black-faced Spoonbill wades gracefully through the shallow waters nearby. The lake, India’s largest inland saltwater body, serves as a crucial wintering ground for numerous migratory bird species. Flamingos—both Greater and Lesser—feed by filtering algae and small crustaceans from the saline water, often moving in synchronized groups.
