A Green-backed Tit perched on a tree branch behind green leaves in Jabbarkhet, near Mussoorie. This small passerine bird belongs to the tit family Paridae and is commonly found in forested areas across the Himalayan region. The Green-backed Tit (Parus monticolus) moves actively among tree branches searching for insects, larvae, and small invertebrates hidden in bark and foliage. It may also feed on seeds and plant material depending on seasonal availability. The species is often observed alone, in pairs, or as part of mixed-species feeding groups in woodland habitats.
