A female Purple Sunbird attends a small, pouch-shaped hanging nest suspended among green foliage. The nest is woven from fine plant fibres, grass, stems and other natural materials, forming an enclosed structure with a narrow entrance. The female remains near the entrance, occasionally moving inside and looking outward. She rests on and around the nest while attending to the nesting site. The surrounding vegetation helps conceal the nest among the branches. The footage captures nest-site use, resting and routine nesting behaviour of the female Purple Sunbird during the breeding season.
