This peaceful wildlife clip from Munnar, Kerala, captures a Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) perched gracefully on a branch while making its distinctive, melodious calls. Known for their upright crest and bright red cheek patch, these bulbuls are among the most expressive songbirds of South India. In this footage, the bird vocalizes repeatedly, producing clear, rhythmic calls that echo through the lush surroundings. Although we hear reciprocatory calls from another bulbul nearby, the second bird does not appear within the frame—allowing full focus on the perched individual as it scans the environment and communicates.
