For as far as the eye can see, no trace of water or green trees can be found in this cold desert of Ladakh. This small village of Hemis is a small exception to this, as it has a sparse green and tree cover. This is also the place where Naropa festival takes place and is the destination of devotees to worship in Naropa Stupa.
