An adult White-breasted Waterhen (Amaurornis phoenicurus) tending its nest and chicks among dense marsh vegetation. The parent sits on a nest of dry reeds, partly hidden by tall green stems and round floating leaves, its dark grey back and white face and breast just visible. Close-ups reveal fluffy, jet-black chicks huddled together in the nest, with small dark beaks and bright eyes. A chick stands at the edge of the nest while others rest below it. The footage gives a rare, quiet glimpse of the early days of a waterhen family hidden in the reeds.
