This waterhen comfortably and cautiously pads on to its nest in tall water grasses, within a wetland. She incubates her clutch of pretty pinkish-white speckled eggs. This Waterhen tends to her eggs in isolation within a shrub next to our Delhi wetlands. See the little fur-ball chick among its egg peers, as it was the first to hatch. The mother successfully brings up her brood of eggs-chicks and takes them to adulthood in the weeks ahead! The White-breasted Waterhen is an adaptable water bird that inhabits our New Delhi wetlands at the Wilderness Orchard. We have provided safe haven nesting for these birds and their cute black furry chicks are currently scurrying all over the place, see the world for the first time. See their pre-birth home and the lovely speckled white eggs they were born
