An Indian Bush Lark (Mirafra erythroptera) resting undisturbed in a wetland habitat. The small, ground-dwelling songbird remains alert while blending almost perfectly with the surrounding soil, dry grasses, and natural vegetation. Its earth-toned plumage provides excellent camouflage, making it difficult to spot against the landscape. The bird occasionally turns its head to observe its surroundings while remaining largely motionless.
