A Black-headed Jay (Garrulus lanceolatus) perched among dense, dry branches in its natural Himalayan forest habitat. The bird remains alert, periodically turning its head to scan the surrounding woodland before producing its characteristic calls. Its black head, blue-barred wing patches, warm brown body, and long dark tail are clearly visible as it vocalises from its elevated perch.
