A large gathering of Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo) is seen at the Khichan Wetland in Rajasthan, India, a well-known wintering area for these migratory cranes. The footage shows numerous cranes standing together on dry, rocky ground near wetland vegetation. Several birds remain upright and alert, while others rest, bend their long necks and preen their feathers, using their bills to maintain their plumage. The birds' slender bodies, long legs, dark necks, pale grey plumage, white head markings and red eyes are clearly visible. Trees and wetland vegetation form the background as the flock gathers closely together.
