In this Moti Bagh park in South Delhi, a pair of Common Myna or Acridotheres tristis tristis have chosen to nest in a tree hollow. See their nesting action, flights to the nest-hole in slow motion, and the rearing of their chicks, through the entire nidification or nesting period... The natural tree knot hollow is in a Bakain or Persian Lilac tree. See slow motion action of the parents flying in to the nest hole. Even though Mynas can live in crowded cities, there is still something wild about them and they prefer to nest in tree hollows. After they have brought insect food for their chicks, they urge the chicks to poop out faecel / fecal globules which they carry away and dump far off, to prevent predators from sensing the presence of the chicks in the nest-hole.
