A Red-wattled Lapwing is seen displaying protective behavior over its chicks. Known for its distinctive red wattle in front of each eye, a red bill with a black tip, and long yellow legs, this bird is easily identifiable. In this scene, it adopts a defensive posture, often used to shield its young by hiding them beneath its wings, especially during rain or when sensing danger from predators. Commonly found across the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, this ground-dwelling wader inhabits open landscapes such as agricultural fields, wetlands, and dry terrains.
