Watch this Woodpecker couple peck under rocks and in crevices of tree trunks, for ants and other insects, grubs and their cocoons. Black-rumped Flameback having a drink with Mynas. This beauty hides on tree trunks and in high city tree canopies, so you don't see it unless you hunt for it, and when you do you are richly rewarded with the sight of a bird so spectacularly plumed that its richness shines right at you. This Golden backed Woodpecker is zygodactylic or in other words has two toes pointing in front and two pointing back, to give it better grip when climbing tree-trunks vertically!
