Cute wide yellow eyed Eurasian Stone Curlews preen their tails with their chicks at Wilderness Orchard in Delhi, in post breeding season mode. They look sleepy in the daytime, being nocturnal birds for the most part. Party time for birds that nest on the ground, and have to fend off potential prdators. They seem to have a camaraderie all of their own! A Lapwing preens its chest feathers while Pacfowl call in the monsoony backdrop, even as a Curlew looks sleepy by day, and a Grey Partridge or Safed Teetar forages for seeds and insects in the tall grass behind.
