Curlew mum with grown-up chick! What a gentle wonderful old world shy creature is the Eurasian Stone Curlew as seen at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi Party time for birds that nest on the ground, and have to fend off potential predators. They seem to have a camaraderie all of their own! A Lapwing preens its chest feathers while Pacfowl call in the monsoony backdrop, even as a Curlew looks sleepy by day, and a Grey Partridge or Safed Teetar forages for seeds and insects in the tall grass behind.
