Big yellow eyes and a shy cute face! With a flowering larkspur behind, a Stone Curlew approached its nest scrape, and sits on its eggs in the open harsh summer sun at the Wilderness Orchard in New Delhi, on 31st March 2022. See the large thick beak of the Thick knee! The Curlew is a shy bird with a beautiful piercing scream of a squealing whistle of a call which one hears at night. Rather than warm the eggs, thus bid actually cools moistens them by sitting on them, to protect them from the harsh summer sun,, all the while hoping to camouflage itself and its eggs from the ground around it...
