A Black-rumped Flameback as it moves up the trunk of a tree in search of food. Clinging vertically to the bark, the woodpecker steadily climbs higher while inspecting the surface for insects hidden beneath the wood. It repeatedly taps and pecks at the trunk with its strong bill, a behaviour commonly used to locate and extract prey. The bird pauses occasionally before continuing its upward climb through the tree. Surrounded by fresh green foliage, the scene offers a close look at the daily feeding routine of one of India's most recognizable woodpeckers. The footage captures a simple yet fascinating moment from the life of this native bird species.
