A graceful Indian Peafowl female, commonly known as a peahen, forages peacefully in a lush grassy habitat. Moving carefully through the vegetation, the peahen feeds on tender green grass and other natural food sources found on the forest floor. Unlike the brightly colored male peacock, the female displays elegant grey-brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage in the wild. Her bronze-green neck and delicate crest add a subtle beauty to her appearance. Peafowl are opportunistic feeders, consuming a variety of foods including grasses, seeds, fruits, insects, and small reptiles.
