Asses in the open desert... One of the asses kicks a side kick! Almost as if on queue, all the asses look in the same direction and exactly the same way, with uniform light falling on all of them! Wild Asses (Equus hemionus khur) in Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, India. The Indian wild ass had a range that once extended from western India, through Sindh and Baluchistan, Afghanistan, and south-eastern Iran. Today, its last habitat comprises the Indian Wild Ass Sanctuary, Little Rann of Kutch and the surrounding areas of the Greater Rann of Kutch in Gujarat. The animal is also seen in the districts of Surendranagar, Banaskantha, Mehsana, and around Kutch. Saline desert, arid grassland and shrublands are its preferred habitat. Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar is situated in the Bhavnagar
