Adrenaline rushes with this sighting of a White-throated Kingfisher with a live female Purple Sunbird between its beak. The Kingfisher twists its neck and hit the head of the bee eater on the branch to decapitate it. The kingfisher hits the bee eater's head on the branch multiple times. The white-throated Kingfisher is a tree dwelling kingfisher which is large, colourful with a formidable looking red beak. The bird usually feeds on fishes, amphibians and smaller reptiles and sometimes birds. This is one of those rare moments where it is sighted while in action. Can't get any better! This also proves birding in New Delhi is nothing short of birding in the 'outdoors ' in terms of the action.
