A female and an adult male Indian Peafowl, commonly known as a peahen and peacock, within a lush green environment in New Delhi. The Indian Peafowl is native to the Indian subcontinent and is celebrated as the national bird of India. The female peafowl, or peahen, displays more subdued plumage compared to the brightly colored male. Her brown and grey feathering provides excellent camouflage while nesting, while her metallic green lower neck adds a striking touch of iridescence. She also features a fan-shaped crest atop her head and characteristic white facial markings around the face and throat.
