This footage captures flamingos feeding peacefully at Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan during a foggy winter morning. The birds are seen wading slowly across the shallow salt pans, moving gracefully through the mist as they feed. The soft morning fog creates a tranquil atmosphere, diffusing the light and enhancing the pale pink tones of the birds against the white salt flats. Sambhar Lake is India’s largest inland saltwater lake and an important wetland ecosystem that attracts thousands of migratory waterbirds each year. The flamingos seen here are most commonly the Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus), though Lesser Flamingos (Phoeniconaias minor) are also known to visit the region.
