Demoiselle Cranes gathered at the famous feeding grounds of Khichan in Rajasthan. The open field is covered with birds as they feed side by side, creating one of the region's most well-known wildlife spectacles. While many cranes remain on the ground, others can be seen flying overhead before joining the flock below. The constant movement of birds arriving, feeding, and taking off fills the landscape with activity. Every winter, these migratory cranes travel thousands of kilometres to reach Rajasthan, where they are welcomed and protected by the local community.
