Is that a white-backed Vulture chick at its nest in India? Rare footage of the family life of Vultures. A chick sits alone in its nest atop a tree in India, while the parents are away scavenging and carrying out their very important task of cleaning up after predators and natural deaths. Vulture is the name given to two groups of convergent evolved, usually scavenging birds of prey: the New World vultures, including the Californian and Andean Condors; and the Old World vultures, including the birds that are seen scavenging on carcasses of dead animals on African plains.
