A Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri) in a cavity in the trunk of an old tree. The bird first looks out from inside the hollow, revealing its bright green head, orange-red eye, and strong red beak. It then climbs out and grips the rough bark with its claws, displaying the narrow black throat line and pinkish neck ring characteristic of an adult male. Rose-ringed parakeets commonly use tree cavities as nesting sites, where they lay their eggs and raise their young. The close-up captures the bird’s movements at the entrance to the hollow, with sunlit bark contrasting against its green plumage.
