The government of India launches project tiger to ensure the viable population of Bengal Tiger in their natural habitats. Citi bank launches a co-branded credit card with Project Tiger Arin Ghose and other officials from Project Tiger speak about the project at a press conference, "Figures have still not been declared by the director of Project Tiger but the director of Project Tiger has gone on record to admit that the number is now around three thousand tigers. This is not the official figures because it is not declared so, this was a statement made which came out to the press. This is a scheme to compensation scheme which is already there by project tiger, by the Government of India which we felt may not be as effective as it should be so this is an attempt by WWF of India to strengthe
