Known as the kotwal chiriya, as it is such a good guard, less aggressive birds such as the Golen Oriole and Paradise Flycatcher have been known to nest close to the Black Drongo (which is aggressive to would-be attackers), thus sheltering under their security-conscious demeanour! Any predators or raptors coming close are swooped down upon and attacked by the Drongo couple, to protect their nest and its contents, and in the process, the neighbours get free security as well!
