Walking along railway tracks tat are equally flooded, the residents of Bombay take the rains and floods that blight their existence each year, as a part of life. Here, the chawls and slums have been flooded and every-day lower middle class commuters trudge to work after having saved their homes and belongings in July 2019 floods. Many have lost everything. This cycle repeats itself each monsoon season as much of Mumbai is low-lying and the waters take a long time to drain out.
