Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, the highest peak within Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, India, overlooks rolling forested valleys, agricultural fields, and rural settlements. Rising to an elevation of approximately 1,454 metres, the hill is known for its frequent mist-covered landscape, especially during the monsoon season, which gives the peak its name, Himavad ("covered in mist"). The summit is home to the historic Venugopalaswamy Temple, a 14th-century shrine built during the Hoysala dynasty and dedicated to Lord Krishna. The surrounding landscape features a mosaic of cultivated farmland, reddish-brown soil, coconut palm groves, village roads, and protected forest that forms part of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
