Great Barbet, the largest member of the barbet family, is observed perched on a tree branch in the forests of Latpanchar, West Bengal. Surrounded by dense green foliage, the bird is seen facing forward with its bill open while maintaining an alert posture. Great Barbets are native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia and are commonly found in montane and foothill forests. The open bill may be associated with calling, territorial display, or thermoregulation. The footage highlights the species' distinctive appearance and behavior within its natural habitat.
