Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher (Cyornis tickelliae) is a small and vibrant passerine commonly found across the Indian subcontinent in forests, gardens, and wooded landscapes. This species is easily identified by its bright cobalt-blue upperparts and head, contrasting with a clean white throat and belly. The warm orange patch along the flanks and breast adds a striking splash of colour, making the male especially eye-catching during the breeding season. Orange-flanked Bush Robin Perched lightly on a thin wire fence, the flycatcher appears alert and poised. Its slender black bill is adapted for catching insects, which form the primary diet of Cyornis tickelliae.
