A braided river system winds through the high-altitude cold desert landscape of Nubra Valley in Ladakh, India. Multiple shallow channels divide and rejoin around sandy sediment bars, mudbanks and patches of exposed riverbed. Dense shrubs and scattered trees grow across the otherwise arid terrain, showing reddish-brown, grey and yellow-green seasonal vegetation. A narrow dirt road crosses the landscape, while agricultural plots, stone boundary walls and rural structures are visible near the edge of the river system. The top-down view highlights the contrast between the braided waterways, sediment-rich riverbeds, vegetation and barren desert terrain of Nubra Valley. As seen aerially, from the air in this aerial view.
