Follow a high-altitude road through Nubra Valley, Ladakh, with sweeping views over the turquoise waters of the Shyok River and the stark mountains of the Trans-Himalaya. The vivid blue-green river cuts through a vast landscape of brown, grey and ochre mountains. Nubra lies between the Ladakh and Karakoram ranges, at around 3,000 metres above sea level, with its landscape shaped by the Shyok and Nubra rivers and glacial meltwater from the surrounding mountains. The Shyok River is part of the Indus river system, while the Nubra River joins it near Diskit.
