A Tabby butterfly (Pseudergolis wedah), a species of the Nymphalid family found widely across Asia, is seen resting on raw ground, then moving to a green leaf, and later settling on a wall. Its earthy wing tones and subtle patterns provide excellent camouflage, allowing it to blend naturally with different surfaces in its surroundings. Beyond its appearance, the Tabby butterfly performs an important ecological role. As an adult, it helps in pollination while feeding on nectar and plant fluids, supporting the growth of flowering plants. In its caterpillar stage, it feeds on specific host plants and becomes part of the natural food chain, providing nourishment for birds and other insect-eating animals.
