Asian Barred Owlet (Glaucidium cuculoides) is a resident in the Himalayas, North-East India and Bangladesh. Has buff-barring on wing-coverts and flight feathers, less finely barred upperparts and underparts, with barring broken and apparent as broad streaks on belly and flank. A juvenile has buff-spotting on crown, nape and mantle; breast-barring and flank streaking more diffuse. The call of the Asian Barred Owlet is a continuous bubbling whistle. It is a diurnal species and prefers forests. Source : Help Field Guides The Asian Barred Owlet is relatively large for a pygmy owl and has a rounded head and no ear-tufts. The face has white eyebrows that extend to the rear of the eyes and a white moustachial streak. Eyes are lemon-yellow. The cere is greenish-horn and the bill yellowish-green. T
