A Rock Bunting (Emberiza cia) perched on a branch near the top of a tree against a clear blue sky. This small songbird is recognisable by its grey head with bold black stripes, chestnut-brown back and rufous tail. Rock buntings typically inhabit open, rocky hillsides and scrub-covered slopes. Their diet consists mainly of seeds and small insects. In some parts of their range, they move to lower elevations during winter. The footage offers a close view of the bird’s plumage and perching behaviour in a mountain setting.
