Yellow legged pigeon spotted next to a Green Barbet. Lets talk a bit about green pigeons' appearance. Their upper parts are greyish green to yellowish green, their thighs are yellow with mauve patches on the top of the wing. The green plumage provides a great camouflage in the tops of trees. Their bills are red at the base white at the tip. Their feet are also red. They eat mainly fruit such as figs. When it comes to barbets.. Barbets are small-ish birds, about Bulbul size, with a large head and a broad beak, often seen on trees that are fruiting. Since the birds are small though, it helps if one is looking through a binocular.
